baby talk

"Uh oh" and "baby" are the latest words in Kates vocabulary.  She says "uh oh" in the right context sometimes!  This started last week when she flipped a toy out of the bath tub and I said "uh oh", she repeated me right away and has been saying it ever since.
Holly got her her first baby doll for Christmas and we were playing with it the other day, now she says baby all the time.  Amazing to watch her grow and learn!

She continues to say Mamamamama, dadadadad, and all sorts of other consonants and vowels in her baby babble.  My favorite is when she sings to me- she loves to sing!
My question is....are these her "first words" or do we only qualify them as first words when she understands the context!!??

  1. I'd say that "uh oh" would be her first because she used it in the right context. As long as it makes sense I think these words qualify. :) She's growing so fast! Are you having a big 1st birthday for her?
