Top 8 at 8

Last week was Kate's 8 month birthday, and in celebration of this milestone, I bring you the list of the top 8 things going on in her world now:

8.  This is the number of hours I wish Kate would sleep consecutively thru the night!!  Haha, I couldn't think of another 8!  Kate still wakes up twice at night...once around 11-12 and then again around 3-4.  Usually just to eat and fall back to sleep, every now and then she'll stay up for a couple hours...not so fun. ;)  8 is also the number of months that I have been completely and utterly in love with this beautiful smile!!!

7.  This is what time Kate goes to bed- this isn't breaking news because she's been going to bed around 7 since she was about 5 months, but with the time change and some teething it's a miracle that this is STILL the time she goes to bed. :)
She has always slept on her tummy with her butt straight up in the air, but lately when I go in she's in all different positions- including on her back with her arms straight up.  Such a cute little wiggle worm!
6.  This is the number of new outfits Kate got this weekend.  I went to Kohls and couldn't pass up all the cuteness.  Kate has boxes of clothes from Karly and from a girl I work with, so she rarely gets NEW clothes, especially 6 at once!!  Dressing her this week will be lots of fun!!  We went to brunch for Mother's Day yesterday and she wore this cute new dress.  Shopping for baby girls is so much fun!
5.  This is the number of hours Kate spends in daycare M-F.  I'm still working part time, thankfully.  Kate is in nursery B- she's the baby of the group and the oldest is a little over 1.  She has lots of fun with her little friends and the ladies in there are great.  Kate gets to go on 2 walks a day, 2 naps a day, and play to her hearts content.
4.  This one serves as a reality check for me: there are only 4 more months until Kate's first birthday!  I absolutely cannot believe this.  I was just looking at a picture of her from her first week, and I can't believe how tiny and wrinkly she was...now she's such a big girl!!
3.  This is the number of meals Kate eats each day.  Sounds pretty trivial, but we've come a long way in this department.  We started solid food at 6 months and in the beginning she refused to eat anything.  She still has her picky days (maybe I just have bad timing and she isn't hungry), but most of the time she opens wide and gobbles her food up.  She's had lots of different foods (noted in another post)...she's even had Mykonos lima beans and a little hummus!  She loves Greek food like her Mom and Dad!
2.  This is the number of teeth Kate has.  Yep, still just 2 perfectly positioned bottom teeth.  Even tho there are only 2 teeth in her mouth, you better watch out because if you put your finger in her mouth you will likely get a nail trimming.  I've been watching for those top teeth for awhile...her little gums look a little swollen, so I think they're coming soon.  Stay tuned!
2 is also the number of cousins Kate has so far.  Nick and Karly love Baby Kate so much and she loves them too!
1.  Kate takes 1 bath every night before bed.  She has so much fun and totally loves the water.  She's in the big tub now and she has lots of bath toys.  She stands up, sits down, crawls, kicks the water, plays with the wash cloth, and my favorite is that she will sing her heart out and talk talk talk with a big smile on her face.  She just LOVES bathtime!!  Our little water baby!
